More ADHD drugs given to children

Prescriptions for mood-altering psychiatric drugs given to children has gone up by 20 per cent over the last four years.
The increase in medication for conditions including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been revealed through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request by getreading.
One family described how their seven-year-old son – now a gifted drummer – was “like a zombie” when prescribed the American drug Ritalin for his ADHD.
