bycatch - noun
Unwanted marine creatures that are caught in the nets while fishing for another species;

"thousands of dolphins and porpoises and whales are killed as part of the by-catch each year"


We caught a dangerous SHARK!

That's the "800 pound monster in the room" in the subject of "Child Protection".

The net is cast wide trying to catch the rare parent who "might" injure or kill kids.

But there are going to be a terrible number of non-abused kids and INNOCENT parents run through the meat grinder.

The government agents operating in the system seem not to be able to imagine, or simply DO NOT CARE that most of the people the system contacts are innocent of doing anything wrong.

It's all about "erring on the side of caution" or safety, or whatever word they want to insert.

We think the word "err" is terribly minimalist.

The people who find themselves enmeshed in a CPS investigation certainly have no sense of "safety". Not when they are being attacked in an adversarial manner, and the truth is not acceptable.

Neither do the kids- especially when the CPS agents or psychiatrists ARGUE with them about what happened. To the CPS and their contractors, the only suitable answer from a kid is some sort of "disclosure".

This is a system totally devoid of Constitutional Due Process. People are unlikely to remember their Constitutional Rights, and that's what the Miranda Rights are about.

The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States plainly says-

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The recent Greene v. Camreta case clearly establishes that kids indeed do have their Fourth Amendment Right to be secure in their persons, houses...against unreasonable searches and seizures.

American kids don't need European Socialism's Convention on the Rights of the Child. They need their Constitutional Rights.

That's why anybody who cares needs to call their US Senator about S.R. 519 and S.J. Res 16 and their US Representative about H.J. Res. 42

Innocent parents and children don't need to be dragged through HELL by a CPS investigator. They need their Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendment Constitutional Rights.

The innocent do NOT need to be "bycatch" in this insane, unconstitutional system.

It just isn't working out well for anybody.
