NH officials propose to create 2nd DCYF shift in hopes to protect more children

Landrigan: NH officials propose to create 2nd DCYF shift in hopes to protect more children | NH1:

CONCORD - State officials proposed what they said was a way to better respond to suspected cases of child abuse by creating a second shift for child protection workers. Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeff Meyers said the plan to fill 18 more jobs would create a 12 noon to 8 pm shift so that cases would go beyond the current quitting time of 4:30 pm.
My comment: A 2nd shift isn't going to protect children sent home to a Mother with Criminal Child abuse charges pending. The children should never have been sent home unless the charges were dropped or the Mother went through the Court system and was found innocent. This State makes no sense. Parent's whose criminal child abuse charges are dropped, only because in Criminal Court they are allowed to present evidence of innocence, unlike the Family Court, never get to see their kids again. Never returned and adopted out to strangers! Maybe if this State started follwing Federal mandates, such as placing her with her grandmother, Brielle wouldn't have lost her life. But in NH "Relative Placement is NOT and option," according to aDCYF Supervisor.
