A grandma desperate to adopt her grandson fought the state and lost:

I am still fighting for my grandchildren, stolen and adopted out by the rogue Nashua, NH DCYF and will Never stop. It's high time State and Federal mandates were followed in the removal of children.
This grave miscarriage of justice is not only happening in Michigan with their private adoption agency's, it's happening everywhere to extended family members by CPS/DCYF.
In New Hampshire, the Statewide DCYF Assessments prove NH is not following federal mandates OR State mandates. Only 33% of the children taken into state custody are placed with family member's. NH DCYF also promise adoption of these stolen children to the foster strangers they place them with long before a parents rights are terminated. Family members are told "Relative placement is NOT an option." This is total BS!

(WXYZ) - Michigan families are being torn apart and critics blame the privatization of the foster care system. Families desperate to care for loved ones say they are spending thousands of dollars to fight a hostile bureaucracy to get children out of state hands.
