Today is the Fourth National GRANDRally on the Capitol Steps in Washington, DC! Countless advocates are on their way to lend their voice for children as you read this email.
If you're not in DC, your voice can still be heard! Check out these instructions to contact your legislator on this very important day. Simply put:
1. Dial 1-800-928-8084 and follow the prompts to enter your zip code. Then press "1" to connect to your first Senator's/Representative's office.
2. A staff person will answer the phone. Tell that person where you're calling from, and that you're calling to ask your Senators/Representatives to, "Protect Social Security and other critical federal programs that support vulnerable children and families, including grandfamilies (grandparents and relatives raising children) from budget cuts."
3. Most calls will end there. However, if the staff member asks for more information, tell them to visit www.grandrally.org for a full list of policy priorities.
4. Since all your Members of Congress have a stake in these issues, please call 1-800-928-8084 again to get connected to each office. Once again enter your zip code, then press "2" to be connected with your second Senator. After you have called your Senators, please reach out to your Representative.
You can download these instructions here, and please forward and share this email!
If you're in DC, look out for the National Committee of Grandparents for Children's Rights at the GRANDRally, pick up a bumper sticker from GRAND Magazine, and make your voice heard on behalf of children and grandfamilies everywhere!
