NH House likely to nix children and family law committee

House likely to nix children and family law committee - Houston Chronicle:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire House likely won't have a committee focused on child and family law in the upcoming session.The House Rules committee voted Wednesday to eliminate the chamber's Children and Family Law Committee. Any bills related to child and family issues will instead go to the committees on judiciary, criminal justice and public safety, or health and human services. The full House must approve the rule change when the session begins in January.

DCYF responds to lawsuit over sexual abuse of 2 girls:
Parents of girls pleaded guilty to sexual abuse, child pornography charges.
Concord, NH  The Division of Children, Youth and Families is asking a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed in October alleging that it was negligent when two little girls in its custody were sexually abused by their own parents.

The number of children in state care increased from 401,213 on September 30, 2013 to 427,910 on September 30, 2015.
