Rep. Eric Redman’s legislation to amend Idaho law to empower non-profits to train and oversee “host families” for parents who are in crisis or serving in the military and want to temporarily have someone else care for their kids has passed the House on a 53-15 vote. The bill, HB 573, is entitled the “Safe Families Act.”

A mother wants answers after her 2-year-old son's death while in foster care was ruled a homicide."My son was murdered and I want to know the reason behind it," the boy's birth mother, Nina Stead, said in a Facebook message to Argus Leader Media. "I cannot begin to tell you what I feel inside. My family and I are suffering a great loss."

Archuleta, his wife Illiana, and her brother-in-law, Rogelio Archuleta, adopted twin boys and a girl in 2012.
They all pleaded no contest to abuse and starvation charges. As part of plea deals, Illiana Archuleta was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Rogelio Archuleta was sentenced to 35 years.
