The Legislative Post Audit Committee on Wednesday declined on a party line vote to conduct a limited audit of the state’s foster care system under the Kansas Department of Children and Families. Committee members should have approved the audit, which could have been completed in time for the 2016 Legislature to act, if necessary, on the audit’s findings.
