A LITTLE over two years ago now, state child welfare officials took an infant girl and placed her in foster care, saying the mother’s developmental disabilities made her an unfit parent. As first reported by the Associated Press, federal officials are now telling Massachusetts this mother has the right to prove she can care for her daughter — and the state has a duty to help her try.

The Department of Children and Families is now understood to be conducting an investigation into the incident. A source from within the department said the three teens were all under the care of the NT child protection system in Darwin.

In 2009, Bill Bowen released a trailer for a documentary film he was producing exposing the corruption within Child Protection Services across the United States. The film is called Innocence Destroyed. Bill Bowen died unexpectedly the next year, in 2010, reportedly from a heart attack, before he was able to finish the film.
The segments that were completed are now on YouTube, in three different videos.

An independent federal agency that advises the White House and Congress, The National Council on Disability, says that states needlessly take custody of the children of disabled parents. The Miracle Team would contend that the same can be said in very many more cases where disabilities may, or may not be the issue, and recently showed the explosion of these state sanctioned kidnappings happening in Arizona in particular.
