It all started back in September, when 4-year-old Saniya came home from Kidz Place. She returned home with this gash on her cheek.

On November 25, 2014 my 3-year-old granddaughter, Brielle Eternity Gage, died while in her mother's custody. On January 2, 2015 Katlyn Marin was charged with second degree murder.  We, her extended family, are absolutely heartbroken that our little angel's life ended so abruptly under such horrendous circumstances.  Here is a link to the local television news story:

On November 25th 2014. Brielle Eternity Gage was Murdered at the hands of her own mother after several days of abuse. Rewind 6 Months and Brielle and her 4 siblings were removed from her mothers custody due to Obvious signs of abuse. Shortly later the children were returned to the same home even though the child abuse charges were still pending. I find this absolutely absurd and a failure of Justice to knowingly return children back into a harmful environment. This little angel would still be alive today if it wasn't for DCYF and the court returning her to her mother. They are too concerned about looking good and having good return rate numbers rather then the welfare of the children. They not only need to be held responsible but there also needs to be a law passed protecting future child abuse victims from having the same fate as Brielle. Senetor Boutin is working along with me in proposing a new legislation in the upcoming 2016 Session. POWER BY NUMBERS! the more support we have the better acknowledgment this will receive.
