Much has been written in the last few years about the pressing need for family law reform. Most attention has correctly been focused on the need to protect children from inadequate parenting time with either parent. However, we also need to protect children and the public from bad lawyers.

As heroin and prescription drug abuse continues to increase in America, so does the number of children addicted to these substances. In an attempt to protect infants, hospitals have cracked down on their observation of new mothers, but unfortunately this has frightening consequences for drug-free mothers being denied access to their newborns.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (CN) - Riverside County took a newborn baby from her mother without a reason or a warrant - and it makes a habit of it, the mother and baby claim in a federal class action.
"County child welfare agencies regularly subvert the constitutional rights of parents and children by seizing children from their parents when there is no danger to the child, and in fact no need to seize the child at all," McMillan said.
........ They [Riverside County social workers] as a matter of course don't get warrants before seizing kids.
Comment: And New Hampshire DCYF is no better. They also steal children who aren't in danger and also without a warrant. It's too bad there aren't any Lawyer's brave enough to go after NH DCYF. All chicken shit!
