Each year hundreds of parents of small children walk into the Family Court in New Rochelle and file petitions claiming that the other parent, usually the father, has inflicted some kind of harm on their child when in fact it is not true.The children are usually from five to ten years old. The parent who files goes before Judge Nilda Morales Horowitz
who has fixed several cases and got caught with no punishment. She gives the parent advise. Gets Child UnProtective Services involved, The County Attorneys Office and Victims Assistance and assumes the defendant is guilty.

Today's family composition in Missouri is much different than in past decades. Today, more and more children are living with relatives such as grandparents rather than their parents. Child custody is not as cut and dried as a court determining which parent the child lives with more or less than the other.
