New York State's Highest Court Says Parents Did Not Neglect Children - Albany CPS and Family Court | Examiner.com:
Less than a week before Mother's Day, New York State's highest court, the Court of Appeals, reversed a ruling by the Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department that had affirmed a decision by Oneida County Family Court Judge Joan E. Shkane, which said that Macquelyn M. and Christopher G. had neglected their two children. Few neglect cases end up in the Court of Appeals, but this one did after the parents appealed the lower court's ruling. The decision by the Court of Appeals was unanimous and simply stated that “The determinations of neglect against Jacquelyn M. and Christopher G. are not supported by legally sufficient evidence,” and offered no further comment.

Foster care in Maine: Will one dumb politician undo a decade of progress?
NCCPR Child Welfare Blog: Foster care in Maine: Will one dumb politician undo a decade of progress?:
I’ve written often about the transformation of child welfare in Maine, and how child safety improved after the state abandoned a take-the-child-and-run approach in favor of one which emphasizes safe, proven programs to keep families together. I’ve written about how the death of Logan Marr, a little girl taken needlessly from her mother only to die at the hands of her foster mother, a former child welfare caseworker, shocked the conscience of the state.
Note: With the new Baby stealer in Maine, more children will be stolen and placed in foster care any way, with or without the Governor's help!

DMVC Productions = Results: Legislators VS. Judicial VS. Common sense not so mcuh ...:
House, courts at odds | Concord Monitor: Rather common sense seems to be not so common as this debate lingers on; and the bull coming out from both sides egos now, really read between the lines...
"Last-minute legislation co-authored by House Speaker Bill O'Brien has court officials predicting that, if passed, the state's district, probate and family courts will revert to costly, inconsistent "fiefdoms." Really, well as a citizen who has tried to get contempt charges into a NH Court since filing in October 2011; under NH RSA 461:A it should have been heard in 30 days; and yet it has been "rescheduled" now for the 4th time due to the Judicial Branch to be heard on May 25th. I would have to say that the Court's are already inconsistent.

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — Michael Stefanov's 9-year-old son just wanted to play hockey.
Though he'd been diagnosed with strep throat a day earlier, Stefanov contends the boy was feeling better and wanted to play, and that his pediatrician cleared him to skate in a pair of weekend games.
Then Danielle Ross swooped in and stole the puck, Stefanov says.
