LANSING -- About 150 people gathered Thursday near the state Capitol to hear advocates for bills in the state House and Senate that would ban implementation of foreign laws, a move they hope will curtail Islamic Sharia law in the U.S.
Similar legislation has been proposed in about two dozen states and approved in three.

The treats, however, can't sweeten a bitter fact: our country, while touting that it values families, gives scant evidence of doing so, particularly when it comes to infants and their care.
