CAMP VERDE - Dr. Philip Esplin, a forensic psychologist specializing in techniques for interviewing children involved in sex crimes, testified Friday in the trial of Douglas Dishon, a former Dewey businessman who faces child abuse and molestation charges over incidents that allegedly occurred between 1989 and 1994 - charges to which Dishon, 61, has pleaded not guilty.

A new program from the Department of Child Services is trying to keep children in their own homes for longer before being transferred to foster care.
As an alternative to the budget cuts, the Indiana Department of Child Services has established a new initiative called Safely Home-Families First. The program keeps children in their own home as long as possible and moves them to foster care only as a last resort.
