On Jan. 22, the Rapid City Journal told the stories of four children taken from their parents, only to be moved from foster home to foster home, ill treated in foster care, and then kicked out as young adults unprepared to survive on their own (“Empty promises and a broken system,” Jan. 22 Journal).

Two of the children said “the experience was painful, enough that they will avoid the foster system at all costs.”
