Good Samaritan donates house to couple who lived in storage shed with 6 kids
Good Samaritan donates house to couple who lived in storage shed with 6 kids | khou.com Houston
HOUSTON—A KHOU 11 News viewer donated a house to a married couple who lived in a northeast Houston storage shed with six children.
The donation came just days after the couple was featured on KHOU 11 News because Child Protective Services had taken custody of their kids. The parents said they believed they were being punished because they’re poor.
This is awesome! I'm so happy for this family. It's too bad CPS know's nothing about compassion and helping families, instead of destroying them!

Legally Kidnapped: Affects of Foster Care on Extended Family
Legally Kidnapped: Affects of Foster Care on Extended Family
The following is a disturbing but interesting post from that cute little foster parent. Here she goes into a couple of different issues. The first being many requests for her to take children. The second being that she talks about getting attached to the children in her care, although she still hasn't even taken any in.
Affects of Foster Care on Extended Family
We plan on getting attached and we plan on the children being attached to us. We know we’re asking a lot of our family and close friend because we’re asking them to take a chance and get attached to the kids as well. We’re asking them, at some level, to risk their hearts they same way we are risking ours. It’s been a difficult thing to navigate the calling to foster Mr. T and I feel God put on us and then bring our family members, who may not be as passionate about it, into the journey as well. While I can only vaguely truly understand what it is we are really asking of the people in lives, I do understand that we are asking our community to open their hearts to and be educated about foster children and adoption.
I gotta take issue with this paragraph especially. Why? For one, foster parents who get attached to the children in their care are often the real parents worst nightmare. Not because she won't take good care of kids, as that is not the issue here. The issue is the attachment part. If a foster caregiver falls in love with a kid they will usually want to adopt. If they want to adopt, and the workers decide to give the kid back to the real parents, you will see her screaming out against the horrible injustice. Some have been known to hire lawyers to fight for custody against the real parents. The real parents are forced to fight.
And, of course, we're still waiting for The Lord to approve of the foster kids that were meant for her. Perhaps the next call. Who knows.
What I do know is sooner or later she's going to get bitten by the hand that feeds her, and it will be fun watching her come to terms with reality.
I'll keep you posted.

THOMASTON — After six years, two parents are still struggling to gain custody of their children.
Joe Watley and Karin Hasemann haven’t seen their children since September 2008, they said. Watley said since their birth, the parents’ visiting hours with the children were restricted to two days a week for two hours. Today, Watley said the children are five and six years old.
How can a parent be charged with Neglect, when they never got to take their child home from the hospital?
How can a parent prove to the court that they are a Custodial Parent, again, when they never got to take the child home from the hospital?
And how can CPS/DCYF charge the parent/parent's with "Neglect in the Future"?
Amongst everything else DCYF/CPS believe they are expert's in, are they NOW Psychic's also?
