Illegal adoptions contribute to child trafficking
In a new report, World Vision highlights illegal adoption as a contributing factor to child trafficking.
The report, 10 Things You Need To Know About Human Trafficking, warns of situations in which desperation and vulnerability may lead to parties overlooking both the law and child rights in the adoption process.
“It’s important to have systems in place, particularly in vulnerable communities, to ensure the best interests of the child are always at the heart of any adoption,” says World Vision UK’s Child Rights Advisor Philippa Lei.
“As this report highlights, circumventing those systems sets a dangerous precedent that can ultimately contribute to child trafficking.”
The report draws on the aid agency’s extensive experience in the Asia Pacific Region where children are trafficked at an alarming rate. The issues it raises are applicable across the board, says Lei.
“Child trafficking is a violation of the most basic human rights and every step should be taken to reduce its occurrence and impact on children all over the world.”
Other issues related to trafficking, highlighted in the report, include the added vulnerability of those living with disability, the range of industries children are trafficked into, the prevalence of trafficking of men and boys, and the disturbing fact that one in five victims fall prey a second time.

KC foster parent accused of abusing teen boy
David Melton
A south Kansas City foster parent was charged today with sexually assaulting a teenage boy in his care.
Jackson County prosecutors charged 49-year-old David Melton with two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy.
The 15-year-old boy told police that he was molested at Melton’s house in January. According to court documents, the boy was living in a residential care facility but spending time at Melton’s house because he was in the process of being adopted by Melton and a partner.
The boy did not initially report the incidents because he said he did not want to be returned to a residential care facility, according to court documents. Melton was questioned by police Wednesday and denied touching the boy inappropriately.

Gardasil is the HPV vaccine, touted to fight cervical cancer. But what they are not telling you is that thousands of girls are having adverse reactions, some have even died, at last count it was sixty seven. We have got to do something about this. These girls need our help! These girls are having reactions such as; seizures, strokes, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, headaches, stomach pains, muscle pain and weakness, joint pain, auto-immune problems, chest pains, hair loss, appetite loss, personality changes, insomnia, hand/leg tremors, arm/leg weakness, shortness of breath, heart problems, paralysis, itching, rashes, swelling, aching muscles, menstral cycle changes, fainting, swollen lymph nodes, night sweats, nausea, temporary vision/hearing loss just to name some of them!
There is no known treatment to help these girls, as they suffer in silence. The doctors, if they even admit the connection, have no idea how to help them. So they spend their days going from appointment to appointment, from specialist to specialist trying to find someone to help them. Many of these families have started looking for help outside of mainstream medicine, which in some cases, may bring minor relief. However, most insurance plans do not cover this type of treatment, and as a result, this route is out of reach for many girls.
As you look at the faces on this page, remember that these are just some of the thousands of girls whose lives have been affected by Gardasil. Sadly, one of the girls pictured above, Jessie Ericzon, passed away just two days after her third gardasil injection.
