TRAVERSE CITY — A nationwide Kids Count policy report indicates an alarming trend for children across the state. The Annie E. Casey foundation report released Monday shows 228,000 Michigan children — or about one in 10 — have had a parent incarcerated in their lifetime. Only Indiana and Kentucky are listed as having a higher percentage.
