Hartwig Child Accuses DHS of Unfair Treatment | KEZI
I guess they took lesson's from Nashua, NH DCYF!
RELATIVE PLACEMENT IS NOT AN OPTION, PERIOD! So say's Nashua Supervisor.
EUGENE, Ore. -- An adult son of the Blachly couple convicted of abusing their nine-year-old son is speaking out against the Department of Human Services.
Skylar Hartwig says DHS is treating his family differently than any of their other cases.
After Alona and Rodger Hartwig were arrested and later convicted of child abuse, six of their ten children -- the ones younger than 18 -- were placed in child protective custody.
Skylar says the four older children have been trying to adopt the younger siblings to keep the family together, but DHS won't even let them fill out adoption paperwork.
These family members new of the abuse that was taking place to these children and did nothing to stop it. This 9 year old boy that was abused suffered a fractured pelvis, fractured virtabrae, fractured fingers, a third degree burn so severe on his foot that resulted in sepsis, he was forced to sleep outside without a blanket, pushed backwards into a creek, fed infant formula because these parents thought this boy was overweight. People should do research on the Hartwig case before thinking these family members were innocent or deserve to have custody of these children. If someone knows about abuse and does nothing to stop it and save a child then that person is just as guilty as the people doing the abuse. This poor boy almost died. Yes there are some cases where mistakes are made, and children should go back to a family member that is capable of caring for the child, but not in this case. These older siblings claim unfair treatment, but how is it fair to be beaten and tortured while everyone sits back and does nothing.
